CHAIRMAN'S CHAT
Hi all, Well what a fantastic afternoon we had at Aladdin auditions and I'm sure the panel had a tough job on their hands. Congratulations to all of those who were successful in being cast, now the hard work starts. I hope plenty of you booked your place at the fantastic annual Dinner Dance, always a great night letting your hair down. Don't forget Christmas Concert tickets are on sale; a great nights’ entertainment to kick start your Christmas celebrations. Kerry.x
WORKSHOP 22 SEPTEMBER
The workshop on the 22nd September was enjoyed thoroughly by all those who attended. In some ways, however, it was a shame that there were not more than 5 participants but, on the other hand, those 5 got the absolute most out of the entire day. In the beginning, two themes were evident in the attendees 1. I cannot improvise, and 2. I haven’t the faintest idea where to start when creating my own material. By then end of the day not only had all of us gained confidence in improvising but, working together, we had created a short story of scenes that any one of us, or indeed all of us, could have taken away and expanded into a full length play. The entire day was also a testament to the CUDOS ‘family’ mentality in that, when David and Rachel left us to work on our short devised piece there was not one voice taking control, all ideas were listened to and taken on board and the finished product was, without doubt, a team effort. The next time a workshop comes around word will have spread as to how much fun and how much is learned and hopefully many more will attend. Ollie Dodson

CAROL SINGING FRIDAY 29TH NOVEMBER
CUDOS have been invited to lead the carol singing at the Lighting Up Ceremony. Everyone is welcome to come along. Please meet outside the Victoria Hall at 6.20 at the latest. Crewners have been invited to be ‘Wandering’ Carol Singers after the Lighting Up Ceremony and would be delighted if anyone from CUDOS could join us.
We were sorry to hear that Polly Bray has passed away. Polly was a Patron of CUDOS and very supportive in many ways. She was a Regional Rep for the SFD for several years, always on hand if we needed any advice. Polly will be missed by all who knew her. Our condolences go to Adrian, Charmaine, Emily, Taya and Jake, our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
